About Us

1. Introduction:

  • The VfB Kiefholz e.V. is a registered sports club in Berlin, established in 2004, primarily focused on Badminton. Future sports offerings include cricket, volleyball, and indoor hockey.
  • We boast almost 500 members from 55+ countries, fostering a welcoming environment for all ages and skill levels. Our ethos revolves around openness, friendliness, and mutual respect.

Info for Non-Members, Guests, and Membership Applicants:

2. Trying Out Badminton:
   Interested in trying badminton with us? Please send a brief email introduction, including your name and preferred date for a trial session. Due to COVID-19, prior communication is essential.

3. Becoming a Member:
   Membership registration can be completed online. We recommend trying a few sessions before committing, ensuring a match with our club’s values.

4. Membership Costs:
   Membership fees, set yearly, currently stand at €18 per month and €13 for students or those without income. Discounts apply for members of other badminton clubs.

5. Usage of Membership Fees:
   Fees cover feather shuttles, coaching, league fees, administrative costs, and more. Volunteers play a vital role in maintaining affordability.

6. Payment Procedure:
   Fees are collected via SEPA debit on January 10, April 10, July 10, and October 10, representing three months of membership. Cash or PayPal payments can be arranged.

7. Membership Termination:
   Membership is continuous until formally terminated. Termination can be done quarterly, with one month’s notice. Fees are non-refundable once paid.

Reservation System:

8. Time Slot Booking:
   We utilize the “takeactive” app for reservations. Time slots for the current week become available every Monday from 7:00 PM. Pre-registration is essential.

9. Additional Rules:
   Specific guidelines ensure fair usage. Members are encouraged to cancel reservations responsibly and communicate changes in the WhatsApp group.

Behaviour Codex and Conflict Resolution:

10. Code of Conduct:
    Maintain a respectful and friendly atmosphere. Discrimination, insults, or snobism are discouraged. Conflict resolution is available through our mediator, Elaine.

WhatsApp Communication:

    We maintain various WhatsApp groups for specific purposes. The “BadmintonReservation-VfB” and “BadminTreptowInfoChannel” groups provide important updates. Guidelines for usage are strictly followed.

League Competition Teams and Tournaments:

    Our club actively participates in the Berlin-Brandenburg league competition, offering challenges for players of various skill levels. Internal tournaments and external competitions are organized periodically.

For Young Players, Children, Teenagers:

    Coached training sessions for children and teenagers are offered multiple times a week. For details, contact our youth director, Darko.

Training and Coaching:

    Training sessions cater to beginners and advanced players and are included in the membership fee. Individual and intensive training sessions are available upon request.
